DAWN, River Cong. This work has been preselected for the 2026 Royal Hibernian Academy of Arts 196th RHA Annual Exhibition.
WINTER LIGHT, River Cong
These works emerge from LifeWays, an ongoing photographic and poetic enquiry into landscape and memory.
This series is rooted in close observation and connection with River Cong.
Returning repeatedly to the same stretch of water, I attend to subtle shifts in light, season, and surface. The images focus on reflection; the river as a moving mirror in which trees and sky are refracted through movement, texture, and colour.
Moving through the landscape, I am drawn to transitional moments when forms loosen, boundaries soften, and surface begins to disclose layered traces of memory.
Reflection becomes both image and interruption.
Through sustained practice, subtle variations begin to unfold across the images, and landscape, perception, and recollection become layered within the photographic frame.
